I’m not a huge fan of The Mars Volta, they are growing on me. Despite that I am super familiar with their music–their cds are on permanent rotation in my boyfriends car. But one thing is for sure, they put on a very entertaining show!
I’ve been to two of their concerts and their energy is amazing. Even if you’re not a huge fan, I think anyone can appreciate what the creativity of what they do.
Is this the clip from David Letterman or Conan OBrien where the audience didn’t know how to react at the end of the song?
ha ha, no it’s from MTV Live! The audience looks like they’re thinking ‘What the fuck is this?” lol.
They’re definitely an acquired taste. When they’re the opening band, a lot of people just don’t get it. They were the opening act for RHCP and the audience was like, covering their ears. Granted, the acoustics weren’t great, but my boyfriend would seethe when he heard someone booing them. Lol.
